During this 10-day trip, you will trek from Dar es Salaam to the open plains of Mikumi National Park, followed by a stay around Ruaha National Park, and then on to the impressive Nyerere National Park. Day 1
Start this safari with a restful night at Camp Bastian, following a train and car ride from Dar es Salaam. Enjoy the pool, explore the area, or rest after the long transfer. Everything has been carefully prepared for an effortless start to this unforgettable travel adventure to Mikumi NP!

After a delicious breakfast, this safari adventure begins! Experience the splendor of Mikumi National Park in a flat area with a beautiful orange light, perfect for safari photography…. Meet unique animals and enjoy the enchanting natural beauty.

Day 3
After a scenic drive we reach Ruaha National Park, one of Africa’s most beautiful parks. Discover overwhelming diversity of wildlife, birds and plants. Relax on the edge of the park with stunning views at the Hilltop Lodge. End the day with a delicious dinner before finding peace in this piece of paradise.

Day 4
A new safari day takes us further and deeper into the bush, in peaceful Southern Tanzania, where we enjoy another picnic or hot lunch in the middle of the park.
Next, we discover the impressive Great Ruaha River, home to large numbers of hippos as well as crocodiles. Furthermore, the river attracts lions, leopards, wild dogs, and numerous other animals, such as waterbucks, impalas, giraffes, warthogs, elands, zebras, and elephants. Additionally, Grant’s gazelles, ostriches, and cheetahs can regularly be seen on the open plains.

Day 5
It is remote. It’s huge. It is untamed and wild. Is it worth heading out today to the park’s lifeline, the Great Ruhah River? Especially considering that this is the only permanent water source, the answer is a resounding YES! Ruaha is East Africa’s second largest national park and it is simply like no other.

Day 6
With an early start to the day, you can enjoy a last sunrise here in the early morning and then continue towards Mikumi, which we will not visit this time.

Day 7
This special South Tanzania safari is intended for those looking for a safari in the pristine African wilderness. The next destination will again offer great game drives (and more).
Large buffaloes, leopards, baboons, and an incredible biodiversity of antelopes are characteristic of the former Selous, which has now been given the name Nyerere.

Day 8
Selous Game Reserve is the largest game reserve in Africa and, together with the neighboring Mikumi and Udzungwa National Parks, forms an area the size of Switzerland! Today you will drive through the northern part of the reserve that is open for photo safaris. Along the way, you will have ample time for unique encounters with wild animals in this pristine environment.
In addition to its impressive predator populations, this national park also provides refuge to more than 10,000 elephants.

Day 9
The former Selous is another great example to show that we will encounter far fewer people in the South than in most other famous Northern reserves. Reason enough, then, to explore this park for another day today….
In addition to the typical inhabitants of the African bush, you can also spot as many as 400 different bird species here.

Day 10
Today is the moment to say goodbye to this beautiful part of Southern Tanzania. We will take you back to the airport, where your journey back to the Low Countries begins.
