After a delicious breakfast, the adventure begins immediately! This time, you are visiting us briefly in Uganda to go on safari, rather than relaxing by a pool for a few days first.

Today we start the day early and gather at the airstrip for a short flight of about an hour and a half to Kasese. There you will be welcomed by our guide, who will take you on the next chapter of this special journey.
Next, it is time for your first safari, where you immediately experience the excitement of one of Africa’s most iconic nature reserves. An unforgettable introduction to the impressive wildlife and breathtaking landscapes.

Day 4
After a delicious breakfast, we continue our final morning safari and head on to the Kasenyi Plains. Embrace the breathtaking beauty of nature in this area and create a visit you won’t soon forget.

Day 5
After breakfast, we leave Queen Elizabeth NP and drive further south to enter the legendary Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

The first briefing takes place in the course of the morning, after which you head into the wild nature of the Bwindi Forest. This is your chance to spot Africa’s impressive silverback mountain gorilla, but also to explore the diverse ecosystems of this forest.

We are enjoying a final full day in Uganda and can choose between a canoe trip on Lake Mutanda or a walk to a viewpoint overlooking the lake. We are just as happy relaxing at this beautiful location.

We are taking a flight from Kisoro to Entebbe in the morning.

Voor toegang tot Tanzania kan je ook bij aankomst een visum verkrijgen. Dit is de goedkoopste optie, je betaald cash of met creditcard hier $50.
Voor Kenia en Oeganda is er geen visum maar wel een registratie plicht die vergelijkbaar is. Deze kost $42 en moet online worden aangemaakt.
In één woord: voortreffelijk. Bij bijna alle arrangementen zijn de maaltijden inbegrepen, en elke maaltijd is een waar genot. De lodges serveren zowel lokale specialiteiten als continentale gerechten, zodat er voor iedere smaak iets te vinden is. Vooral in op het vaste land kan je genieten van zowel Franse keuken als een verscheidenheid aan heerlijke regionale specialiteiten, inclusief vegetarische opties. Zelfs in de bush is de kwaliteit van de maaltijden in de lodges en kampen uitstekend. Met vers vlees, groenten en fruit uit de omliggende landbouwgebieden.
Op Zanzibar, het kruideneiland, zijn de specialiteiten beïnvloed door de Arabische Swahili-keuken, met licht pittige rijstgerechten en kokosbereidingen. Dagelijks word er verse vis uit de Indische Oceaan aangebracht.
Rond of op de evenaar verwelkomt een aangename temperatuur van ongeveer 18 graden Celsius de dag , waarbij de temperatuur zelden extreem varieert gedurende het hele jaar. Zelfs overdag is het meestal comfortabel.
Tegen de avond en in de vroege ochtend kan het echter wat frisser zijn, waardoor een trui of een lichte jas van pas kan komen. De temperatuurverschillen worden eerder bepaald door de regio dan door het seizoen. Hoger gelegen gebieden rond bijvoorbeeld Mount Kenya of Mount Meru (Arusha) kunnen koeler zijn, terwijl de streek rond Moshi en de drogere bushlanden warmer zijn en kustgebieden zoals Mombasa of Zanzibar behoorlijk tropisch zijn.
Dit betekend dat er geen duidelijke winters of zomers zijn, zoals bijvoorbeeld in Zuid-Afrika. Tussen half maart en begin mei is er wel het regenseizoen. Onze ervaring hier leert ons echter dat zware regenperiodes zeldzaam zijn … vanwege de opwarming van de aarde? Meestal om de 3 dagen kan er een bui vallen, meestal ‘s nachts. Naast de lagere prijzen, die ongeveer 10% goedkoper zijn, kleuren alle landschappen dan prachtig groen.
Kortom, over het algemeen moet je verwachten dat de vroege ochtenden en avonden op safari koeler zijn dan je misschien zou verwachten in Afrika. Vooral als je tussen maart en juli reist, is het raadzaam om een fleece of jasje mee te nemen, omdat het ‘s ochtends vroeg of ‘s nachts dus behoorlijk fris kan aanvoelen.

Onze zorgvuldig geselecteerde hotels, lodges en tented camps beschikken altijd over een eigen modern toilet en een warme douche, zodat je na een dag vol indrukken heerlijk kunt opfrissen. Geen gedeelde voorzieningen of primitieve omstandigheden… maar gewoon het comfort dat je gewend bent, zelfs op de meest afgelegen locaties.
Naast schoon en privé sanitair kan je rekenen op goede bedden, lekker eten en goeie service van vriendelijk en professioneel personeel. Of je nu overnacht in een luxe lodge of een kleinschalig eco-camp, wij zorgen ervoor dat je zich nergens zorgen over hoeft te maken.
Opgelet: nieuwe regels sinds mei 2025 voor wat betreft Tanzania!
Houd er rekening mee dat contante betalingen sinds kort uitsluitend mogelijk zijn in de Tanzaniaanse shilling (TZS). Dit betekent dat je als toerist niet meer met euro’s of Amerikaanse dollars contant kunt betalen voor diensten of aankopen in het land.
Volgens de nieuwe officiële regelgeving moeten buitenlanders (waaronder toeristen) hun buitenlandse valuta uitsluitend wisselen via commerciële banken of erkende wisselkantoren (Bureau de Change) zoals bijvoorbeeld bij aankomst op de luchthaven. Illegaal wisselen op straat is niet alleen strafbaar, maar brengt ook het risico op fraude of slechte wisselkoersen met zich mee.
De meest veilige en praktische optie voor toeristen is om betalingen te doen met een creditcard. In toeristische gebieden worden de meeste internationale kaarten geaccepteerd, waaronder Visa en Mastercard. Creditcards zijn ook ideaal voor het betalen van drankjes in hotels (vaak niet mogelijk in de Serengeti).
Daarnaast kan je bij banken of geldautomaten met je creditcard of pinpas lokaal geld opnemen in Tanzaniaanse shillings. Let wel op eventuele transactiekosten van je eigen bank.
Opgelet: Sinds 1 oktober 2024 is het verplicht voor buitenlandse toeristen om een lokale reisverzekering af te sluiten.
Dit bij de Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC) voordat u Zanzibar zal betreden. Deze verzekering kost $44 per persoon en biedt dekking voor maximaal 92 dagen.
Deze maatregel is bedoeld om de veiligheid en het welzijn van toeristen te waarborgen.
Voor meer informatie en om de verzekering af te sluiten, kunnen reizigers terecht op de officiële website van Visit Zanzibar. Na betaling ontvangen je een polisblad en een QR-code die je bij aankomst moet tonen. Ook bij het landen is dit mogelijk maar zorgt voor tijdverlies.
